State by State Achievements → Lagos state. Since taking office, President Goodluck Jonathan has followed through on the ambitious plans laid out in his Transformation Agenda, delivering significant achievements across all states of the nation. Below are some of his many achievements in Lagos State: Agriculture: -Lagos Rice mill established, thanks to the increase in incentives for domestically milled paddy rice, a major policy reform by the Goodluck Jonathan administration. - Ended four decades of corruption in the fertilizer sector. Implemented the e – wallet system for the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers. - Implemented Dry Season farming projects. Aviation: - Remodeled the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), which now meets international standards due to the National Aviation Transformation Roadmap approved by President Goodluck Jonathan in January 2012. - Created a Cargo Airport. - Installed Low level wind shear alert system (LLWAS), Upper Air Sounding Equipment, Automatic Weather Observation & Displays System (AWODS), RETIM Synergy Satellite Image Receivers Upgrade, Air Quality & ozone monitoring system and other associated equipment. Defense: - Rehabilitated the Ojo cantonment. - Rehabilitated the NNS Navy, Ojo. - Rehabilitated the NAFRC, Oshodi. - Renovated and rehabilitated the 68 reference hospital, Yaba. - Provided short term equipment at NA Reference hospital, Yaba. Education: - Refurbished the Federal Government College Laboratory in Ijanikin – Lagos. - Underwrote a ₦40B loan for infrastructural and educational development in Lagos (2014). Health: - Established a new testing and treatment centre for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB). - Created capacity for kidney transplant at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). - Created capacity for Tele-medicine programme at LUTH. - Established a Cancer Screening Centre at Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta. - Established the SURE-P Project on Primary Health Care. Interior: - Constructed an immigration divisional office, facilitating immigration services and operations in the state. - Constructed a passport office at Alausa. Power: - Egbin plant maintenance ongoing. - Constructed Ikorodu – odogunyan – Shagamu 132KV double circuit transmission line. - Constructed 2 x 60 MVA, 132/33KV Substation at Odogunyan and Ayobo with 132KV double – circuit transmission line Ikeja west – Ayobo. - Constructed Omotosho – Epe – Aja 330KV double – circuit transmission Line, Omotosho – Erukan – Ogijo 330KV double Circuit transmission line. - Provided an additional 2 x 150MVA, 330 / 132KV Transformer capacity at Olorunsogo transmission station. Transport: - Completed rehabilitation of the Western railway corridor, providing a boost to the regional and national economy and enhancing the rail transport network. - Completed rehabilitation of the Apapa port railway network. - Rehabilitated Lagos harbour moles. - Rehabilitated the quay wall & quay apron at Tin Can Island port. - Established Maritime Facilities at the University of Lagos. Water: - Conducted Urban Sector Reform Water projects. - Completed rehabilitation of the Oyam Dam. The dam now ensures water supply for Lagos. - Water quality laboratory & monitoring network. - Water quality surveillance safe storage & household treatment. Roads: - Reconstructed and expanded Lagos-Ibadan expressway (work in progress). - Reconstructed Apapa- Oshodi expressway. - Completed 3rd mainland bridge repair. - Completed repair and maintenance at Ijora Course Way. Youth Empowerment: - Ended four decades of corruption in the fertilizer sector. Implemented the e – wallet system for the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers. - Implemented Dry Season farming projects.
