State must play crucial role in the economic development of wannabe industrial societies like botswana,by protecting embryonic local industries from external competition until they are ready to win global market shares on an equal footing.the BDP gorvement is doing its best to set local enterprises,but all will be water in the hole when not much is done to protect these industries by legislation and far reaching bilateral,regional and international trading arrangement.The arrangements in place currently are exposing the local businesses to harsh competition brought about by globalisation,going in 2014 general elections Batswana must identify themself with party that has zeal and enough political will to robustly protect local businesses.it is important to note that protection of this nature is not against foreign investment,but foreign exploitation.The demise of hyundai botswana was craft created through customs by S.A to protect its local car industry that side,currently eskom is working hard around the table to sabotage Botswana power coorperations so as to maintain and extend its hagemony as the biggest power generator in the region.while we are at the receiving end,it is not offence to say we need such kind of thinking in our gorvement,South Africa is not being cruel,it is merely doing what is supposed to be done and which we are failing.
