Including the following areas; East central Nevada - White Pine County. North central Nevada -.northern Lander County and northern Eureka County and southern Lander County and southern eureka County. Northeast Nevada – northern Elko County, Ruby Mountains/east Humboldt Range South central Elko County, southeastern Elko County and southwestern Elko County. Northwest Nevada – Humboldt County. South central Nevada - northeastern Nye County and northwestern Nye County. * From late tonight through Tuesday evening * Scattered to numerous slow-moving thunderstorms may produce locally heavy rainfall. * Areas most prone to flash flooding include small creeks and streams in and near the higher terrain as well as normally dry washes. Rock slides and debris or water flows over roadways are possible. Be alert for ponding on roadways and other low lying areas. Areas near recent burn scars will also be more susceptible to increased runoff and flash flooding or debris flows. LAS VEGAS – FLASH FLOOD WATCH The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a * Flash flood watch for portions of northwest Arizona, California and Nevada. Northwest Arizona Lake Havasu and Fort Mohave, Lake Mead National Recreation Area, northwest deserts and northwest Plateau. California; Cadiz Basin, Death Valley National Park, eastern Mojave Desert, eastern Sierra slopes, Morongo Basin, Owens Valley, San Bernardino County-upper Colorado River valley, western Mojave Desert and White Mountains of Inyo County. Nevada; Esmeralda and central Nye County. Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Las Vegas valley, Lincoln County, northeast Clark County, Sheep Range, southern Clark County, Spring Mountains-Red Rock Canyon and western Clark and southern Nye County. * from 9 am 9 am this morning through this evening * Several upper level disturbances could potentially organize strong thunderstorms today and this evening. With plenty of moisture in place across the southern great basin and Mojave Desert thunderstorms could easily produce one to two inches of rainfall in a short period of time. Areas near recent burn scars will also be more susceptible to increased runoff and flash flooding or debris flows. * Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway since flood waters are usually deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road. When encountering flooded roads make the smart choice, turn around, don’t drown. RENO – NSTR Welcome back! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
