Statement Press Statement on monitoring the election campaign of June 23 in the Republic of Albania The International Society for Human Rights (IGFM Albania), Albania Section determines and evaluates that the election campaign was conducted within the rules and democratic culture, where each of the political forces during the election campaign demonstrated a democratic culture and generally adhered to the code of ethics. Despite the great participation in these elections, the dense rallies and activities conducted at every corner of Albania, unlike all election campaigns developed during these 22 years of transition, there were no incident observed . It is worth to note, and observe with pleasure that big and small political parties, have developed their electoral activities throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, and is missing the concept of "political strongholds" that actually shows emancipation and democratic culture from albanian people, and accountability of political forces to develop the 23 June elections free, democratic and conforms to European standards. Unlike other electoral processes in Albania, in these elections it has been seen a big change, the participation of a considerable number of NGOs who will observe this electoral process, which during these 20 years is dominated by the "Coalition of local observers", which has "32 participating NGOs." IGFM Albania appreciates the extraordinary commitment and above last statement of the U.S. Ambassador Mr. Alexander Arvizu, which expressed the act of photographing the own vote as a shameful act for democracy. In support of this statement IGFM Albania declares that only a power to decide on the free vote is legitimate sovereign and capable of governing the country. IGFM Albania has accredited 664 observers near term in CEC, to spread all over the country to monitor and observe the 23 June parliamentary elections. IGFM Albania notes on the CEC that, although with four members has done well to prepare the infrastructure for the elections. Also, IGFM Albania finds that the State Police is committed to maximum with all the means at its disposal to guarantee the peace and order of the progress of a normal election campaign. IGFM Albania has expressed its confidence, and has full conviction that the 23 June parliamentary elections will be free, democratic and will meet all standards required by the European Union and the U.S., to make possible the fast integration of Albania as a member of NATO and the European Union.
