Statement by UN Resident Coordinator on behalf of the International Community in Nepal/नेपालस्थित अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समुदायका तर्फबाट संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका आवासीय प्रतिनिधिले जारी गर्नु भएको बक्तक्य Kathmandu, 21 January 2015: Nepal’s political leaders have successfully achieved many of their peace process commitments since the end of the conflict in 2006. Agreement on a new constitution is a vital remaining task. The international community is concerned that relations between the parties have been marked by tension in recent days. We call upon them to provide forward-looking leadership in the larger national interest and to continue constitutional negotiations in a spirit of flexibility and urgency. The constitution is meant to be a foundational document that will guide the country’s course for the foreseeable future. To be implemented peacefully and offer stability it will require the widest support from the Nepali people. The international community calls upon the parties to redouble their efforts to secure an inclusive constitution. The international community condemns violence or threats of violence and urges all parties to return to the negotiation table. This is the time for the political parties to demonstrate leadership and fulfill their historic responsibility. नेपालस्थित अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समुदायका तर्फबाट संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघका आवासीय प्रतिनिधिले जारी गर्नु भएको बक्तक्य काठमाडौँ, २१ जनवरी २०१५ - सन २००६ मा द्वन्दको अन्त्य पश्चात शान्तिप्रकृयाका कैयौं प्रतिबद्धताहरुमा नेपालका राजनीतिक नेताहरुले उपलब्धि हासिल गरेका छन् । नयाँ संबिधानमा सहमति बाँकी रहेको एक अत्यन्त महत्वपूर्ण कार्य हो । हालैका दिनहरुमा दलहरु बिचको सम्बम्ध तनाबपूर्ण रहेको प्रति अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समूदाय चासो ब्यक्त गर्दछ । हामी ऊनीहरुलाइ अग्रगामी नेतृत्व प्रदर्शन गरि बृहत राष्ट्रिय हितका खातिर लचकता तथा तदारुकताका साथ संबिधानका लागि वार्ता जारी राख्न आह्वान गर्दछौ । संबिधान एक आधारभूत दस्तावेजको रुपमा हुनु पर्ने हुन्छ जसले देशको भविष्यको दिशानिर्देश गर्छ । यसको शान्तिपूर्ण कार्यान्वन तथा स्थायित्व प्रदान गर्नका लागि यसमा नेपाली जनताको बृहत समर्थन आवस्यक पर्छ | समावेशी संबिधानका लागि आफ्ना प्रयासहरु दोब्बर गर्न अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समूदाय दलहरुलाई आह्वान गर्दछ | अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय समूदाय हिंसा वा हिंसाको धम्कीको भर्त्सना गर्दछ तथा सबै दलहरुलाई वार्ताको टेवलमा फर्कन आह्वान गर्दछ | यो राजनीतिक दलहरुले नेतृत्व प्रदर्शन गर्ने तथा आफ्नो ऎतिहासिक जिम्मेवारी पुरा गर्ने बेला हो ।
