Statement from Washington Mayor Gary Manier: We are very disappointed in the decision by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to deny much-needed federal disaster assistance to Washington and other local governments impacted by last Novembers tornadoes. City Manager Tim Gleason and our staff worked diligently on this to see that we would receive this aid. The decision to deny it shows that this process is broken and needs to be fixed. We will remain strong here in Washington and are committed to rebuilding our community.
