Statement of Robert Buckey, Republican Nominee Queen Anne’s County Commissioner District 3 “While I am disappointed Mr. Dumenil has apparently decided to run a write in campaign against me in November, I am none the less pleased that my fellow Republicans selected me over Mr. Dumenil in our primary despite his last minute, desperate personal attacks on me that were false and filled with lies. “Most states have something called the “SORE LOSER LAW” which we do not have in Maryland. Mr. Dumenil stood before the voters as an incumbent Commissioner and they overwhelmingly rejected him. His legacy of broken promises, higher taxes and poor leadership will now be reviewed in November and once again he will be called on to explain why he voted to raise the Commissioners pay while raising our taxes and even imposing a $35 beach fee on our families,”. In my book the Citizens and the County workers should come first this is not the leadership Queen Anne’s County is looking for. “I am the Republican primary winner I feel the Citizens have asked me to lead Queen Anne’s County. We needs a fresh perspective to help navigate through the unprecedented challenges we face today. “I have a record of solve complex problems. My experiences in the private sectors place me in a unique position to make a real difference for my family, my neighbors and all of Queen Anne’s County. Moreover, I understand that to realize this change will require more than a one-way conversation. I want to ensure that all of Queen Anne’s County residents have a seat at the table when important decisions about the future of our communities are made. Everyones voice counts and each person brings a unique perspective to the fold that can contribute toward building a more vibrant Queen Anne’s County. “As your county commissioner, I will focus on efficiently managing our limited natural resources, planning for our immediate and long term transportation needs, working to improve emergency services, increasing the number of accessible blue collar jobs, growing a strong middle class in Queen Anne’s County, and fostering a high quality of life for all of our residents. “I have called Queen Anne’s County home since 1998. I am grateful for the lessons I learned in my life and though I am not perfect I am proud of what I was able to accomplish for my family. In large part, my involvement in the community that has inspired me to run for office. I realized that the skills and experience I gained in the private sector could be put too much better use serving the people of Queen Anne’s County. “Local government works best when public servants answer to the people they represent. I am committed to working around the clock 7 Day a-week to bring positive leadership and consensus-building to the Commissioners Court and make life better for all Queen Anne’s County residents. “I am looking forward to campaigning once again on my background as a successful small businessman and on my vision for Queen Anne’s County.
