Staten Island reunion 2014 Helene Donlon was an intern with John Fusco and me when we were lawyering at 1010 Forest Avenue. Later on Helene became a Family Court Judge and is now administrating the Family Court on Staten Island. She and husband George Sacco, an attorney in private practice, visited us at our condo on the Columbia River. What a treat to renew a treasured friendship of so many years and to get a complete update on all things Staten Island. The reason she and George are in Portland is a Columbia River cruise on board of the “The Queen of the West” a stern wheeler with a real stream driven calipee played by a crew member. By the way, the stern wheeler is docked 5 minute from walk our condo and who would have guessed that we would see them off on their cruise? So, when we had dinner, we took them to a local restaurant, the Island Café, on a dock in the Columbia River. Then as an additional treat, dessert at a Yogurt shop, on the Columbia River, Washington State side. Next day we joined them on the cruise dock when they boarded the river boat to begin their trip west to Astoria, Oregon and then East to the Snake River. They will see the Columbia River Gorge, high desert country and many more viewing delights in Eastern Oregon. So many memories, so little time to exhaust each other with tales and stories.
