Statins stop the production of coq-10 in the liver which is where - TopicsExpress

Statins stop the production of coq-10 in the liver which is where we get the majority of our coq-10. After a while the depletion can become so acute that muscle fibers that require coq-10 start to break down. This is called rhabdomyolysis. These broken down muscle fibers then are transported to the kidneys via the bloodstream and soon clog up the kidneys. This is called sepsis and is almost alway fatal. This is what i went thru with my sister and for several days the drs kept telling us her death was imminent.Luckily we were able to get her some coq-10 and the sepsis subsided rather quickly. She was still in a coma like state for several months and even now 3 years later is unable to walk.
