Station Leave--its relevance nowadays. Every Government - TopicsExpress

Station Leave--its relevance nowadays. Every Government employee is required to submit Station Leave before leaving his place of duty when he is not on leave or otherwise. I believe that it is unnecessary much less for each and very category of employee like Peon, LDC, Draftsman, etc. It may have certain relevance or importance if a Deputy Commissioner or Inspector General of Police or Superintendent of Police or Doctor or Head of Public Utility Service Department and other public servants are asked to do so. The means of communication are so fast that you may contact the employee immediately. An employee may visit on weekend within 200-300 km by public or private transport and report for duty without hindrance. I suggest that Government must reconsider the necessity of Station Leave, which even otherwise is not being taken seriously. The Central Civil Services (Leave) Rules, 1972 may be amended accordingly.
