Statistics will show that most African-American murders are committed by other African-Americans. And it’s happening every day all around the country. Shouldn’t we wonder why the African-American community is so incensed about the Trayvon tragedy, no matter what they believe about Zimmerman’s guilt? Shouldn’t they wonder why their heroic protectors, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton only seem to show up when they can become the center of media coverage of tragedies like this. Why aren’t they preaching peace among their people, instead of inciting them to riot? There are many grieving parents, black and white, who are losing their loved ones in many places. But they grieve alone in silence. No cameras, no courtroom dramatics, no self seeking glory hunters. All of these are “where the action is.”
