Status Update By Lori Laraway-Guy Ok, first of all I have to say it takes ALOT to piss me off. If you mess with my family or my animals is about the worst thing to get me pissed. Well when you mess with my husband you mess with me! Im sure many of you in our area know of the issues we have had with another handgun instructor. Well Ive been telling my husband to just let it go when we hear the snide comments that have been said about us and our class. But today I have heard some outright lies that are no less than slander! We stopped at a local eatery on our way home from class today. It was someone who knew us from another location and we had put out some of our business cards. We saw that this other instructor had also been in and put out cards. we were told that they had been told that they needed to remove our cards immediately. When asked why, this person stated that we run an illegal gun class at illegal classrooms and an illegal range. Also, that we used to work for them and we were only in business because they gave us our start. they also stated that they have been teaching classes for 15 years and we were now trying to put them out of business by having a lower price. I will address last one first. This other instructor actually got their start from us! They came to us to watch videos and pick up materials needed to learn how to start a handgun permit class. As far as our price goes, Ive already addressed that many times but Ill do it again. Our price is low because we have little to no overhead. Why should we charge more than necessary when you already have to pay for a gun, ammo, and pay the state $115. Our $30 saturday price was MY idea. Tim works a full time job and it was hard to do classes everyday so I said, lets do a special price for Saturday so maybe people will wait and come then. Also, almost every business has different prices on similar products. just look at the signs at gas stations! One may be $3.05 per gallon then across the street one may be only $2.96. Does that mean that one gas is better than the other? And guess what? There are the same amount of cars at both places! OK, now the illegal accusations. This is serious! If ANYONE has any question about the legitimatcy of our schools only has to call the Tenn. Dept. of Safety and Homeland Security or the Tenn. Dept. of Commerce and Insurance. You can also ask them exactly how long we or any other school has been in business. If we are illegal, would we have Tenn. highway patrol officers, retired federal marshals, Metro, Rutherford county, Davidson county and Cannon county Sheriffs deputies take our class? Wouldnt they be the first to know if someone is illegal??? This person should be careful who he spreads these lies to next. If this is ever caught on tape it would not be good! Its not the first time we have have heard this kind of thing but its definitely the worst. Next to when this person tried to pass themselves off as my husband to get someone to let him advertise in their store that is! Oh yeah, one more thing. They also said that we tell people our price is $30 or $40 but when you come to class we make you pay $20 to rent one of our guns, $15 to buy our ammo and you must pay your own range fee. ALL LIES! Our price is ALL you pay to come to our class. We DO NOT rent guns. We loan them free of charge. You do have to bring your own ammo but we tell you that when you make the appointment. Also your range fee is INCLUDED in the price of our class. PERIOD! Competition is one thing, but accusations like these are serious! We appreciate all our past and future customers. Also our past customers who trust us enough to come back with their wives, girlfriends, sons daughters etc. we truly enjoy doing these classes and being at the range and having people who have taken our class come over just to say Hi or ask for some more cards to hand out.We will continue to do our best to provide the best class and training possible. If anyone would like to see any of our LEGAL certificates we can send you a copy or you can come by our class and view them. We are inspected annually. Thats all Ill say for now. Thank you.
