Status update on Scott from Laura: Thank you so much for all your sentiments and well wishes for Scott over the past few days. We really feel the support of Scott’s community – near and far – through this process. Right now I can report that Scott did well through all 15 hours of surgery and he is currently resting in the ICU. His doctor reports that he is ‘very strong’, something none of us are surprised to hear. He will be in the ICU for at least 5 days total for close monitoring, but his recovery is just as his doctor wants. Currently he is still on the ventilator and sedated, but that will be removed soon and his dose of sedatives will be lessened so he can become more conscious. And like last time, we want Scott to hear about his condition first before sharing with social media – but in the next few days he will most likely be able to communicate more. His parents are with him every day and I am able to come by after work, and he has nurses around the clock so he is being well taken care of!
