Staveley u12 blues By Jamie White We played at home against Sheff north end on a pitch that was slightly boggy in places but was playable. We had our chances from the off and should have scored at least one of them. One chance fell to our left winger Kian White who struck the ball with venom only for their keeper to pull off a fine save and tip it on the post for a corner. Our left back George Cartledge had a long range effort from our half saved only just if it did go in it would hsve been goal of the season. 5 mins later they caught us out on the break and confusion from keeper and defender gifted the opposition with a goal. 1-0 to them. Another chance fell to the 2mins later and again confusion with keeper and defender gifted them with another goal 2-0. 5 mins later another mistake at the back gifted them another. 3-0 and a big joke, i was fuming at the manner of we gifted them the goals. At this point our heads were well and truly down. We did however get a goal back a bit of a scramble in their box it then fell to George Henson for him to tap home 3-1. 5mins begore half time caught us on the break and chipped our keeper as he was off his line making it 4-1. Again it was a mistake from the midfield causing the goal as we got caught in possession. An ear bashing at half time but also a confidence boosting talk letting the lads know how good they have been we went out and created loads of chances and managed to pull another goal back as a corner came in from george henson for Kian White to turn and score with his back to goal making it 4-2 game on. We pressed and created loads of oppotunities but due to some players not making the most of it by following the ball in we didnt score again very dissappointing and very furious with the way we played as we did create enough but some think they dont need to follow the ball in. The match didnt end their they scored from a free kick our keeper Ethan Spencer made a fantastic save but it was parried away for them to follow in a tap home making it 5-2 to them. Very dissappointed that nobody followed the player and try to clear the ball we just stood and watched as we did in the first half. I know people keep saying its our first loss in the league now and we are still near top but its the manner of how we lost today that upsets me. We are now third and we need to beat porter next week who are first so fingers crossed. We are not used to losing now expectations are high this season we just need to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves down. Scorers were George Henson and Kian White Mom was George Henson
