Staying at the Augsburg Overflow Shelter tonight. New Philly Moravian fed 20 very cold, very hungry guests tonight. Everyone of them was worried about the morning - most of the places they can go (and be allowed in) do not open until 10am. Just got the word that the Shelter Churches are staying open for them in the morning and volunteers are coming to help staff. Anyone whod like to bring some bag lunches over - weve got 20 guests here who would be appreciative! And to those who donated hats, scarves, socks, handwarmers, coffee, sugar, and toiletries: you cant see the difference youve made, or the gratitude for your contributions. Just know it is PROFOUND. We are called to serve. Thanks for doing so! (And thanks to the Shelter Churches [Augsburg Lutheran, St. Timothys Episcopal, 1st Pres and Lloyds Presbyterian] for your hospitality and care!)
