Staying in Monterosso, 1 of the 5 coastal towns, that make up Cinque Terre of Italy. A famous trail links them. In addition to some beach time, I want to hike the trail. As it rained last night & into this AM, I was told the trail was closed due to mudslides. HOWEVER, by 2pm I was antsy to do something, regardless of rain, I found the trail and started to hike. I figured Id turn around it it got dicey or plead ignorance if someone with authority stopped me. The trail wasnt bad at all. Lots of stone steps and muddy trails. A little slippery, but beautiful views of the blue sea. I hit 3 of the 5 towns. All, beautiful in their own way. I still like mine the best, as it has the beach. Now, time to shower up & go to dinner. I am hungry!!
