Stealing with violence - Alyangula Alyangula Police are appealing for public assistance to identify two males who may be able to assist the investigations into several serious incidents on Groote Eylandt. Acting Superintendent Dan Davison said Police received a call for assistance at about 10.00pm on Sunday night reporting that a residence had been unlawfully entered and a man assaulted. “Police attended the scene to find the resident with injuries to his head and what appear to be superficial stab wounds. “Further reports continued to come in to Police throughout the evening regarding unlawful entries in the town. “Both business locations and private residential properties were targeted, however no further incidents of assault have been received.” Acting Superintendent Davison said the two men have been described as being of Aboriginal appearance, possibly aged in their mid-twenties. “The first male is described as having thick dark hair, facial hair on his upper lip and wearing blue shorts with a white stripe on the bottom of each leg with something blue around his neck. “The second male has short hair, has an athletic build and was wearing a blue top and camouflage print shorts.” “Anyone who has information is urged to contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
