Steel guitar in its entirety. I had the idea for this Blues Opera as a fun way to promote some of my songs and an experience to write some new tunes for the project. I have had the opportunity to perform it live in theaters and art galleries and various performance spaces in Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii over 20 times. I would have liked it to have been a larger productions with more actors and a real budget, but what do you do with an opera? How do you get something like this off the ground? All I had was myself, so I did it as a one man show, to some success, but not enough where I didnt feel like I was banging my head against the wall. It would be nice to someday get a call from hollywood or broadway or the like, but Im not holding my breath.
