SteelSeries, XSplit Gamecaster Coming to MSI Notebooks Upcoming MSI gaming notebooks will have the SteelSeries Engine and XSplit Gamecaster. On Wednesday MSI announced that the SteelSeries Engine and XSplit Gamecaster will be made available in all upcoming gaming laptops, including the GS series, the GT Dominator series, and the GT Apache series. Information regarding the companys next generation of gaming notebooks wont be made available until a later date. Launched to the public in February, XSplit Gamecaster is a live streaming and recording tool that will detect the best streaming settings for the gaming laptop and Internet connection. Users merely launch the Gamecaster program and then the game of choice. After that, hitting CTRL + TAB will bring up the in-game overlay allowing users to start live streaming or recording. By adding a webcam, users can insert themselves into the gaming feed thanks to a green screen transparency effect. The software also provides the ability to draw on the screen with in-game annotations, and to share the broadcast via Twitch, Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Recorded videos can even be uploaded to YouTube while the user is still in-game. In addition to the XSplit Gamecaster software, the new MSI notebooks will feature the SteelSeries Engine. MSI says its the ultimate customization tool, providing the gamer with an unparalleled level of personalization and programming power. This includes creating and modifying an unlimited number of keyboard profiles that can be assigned to a specific application or game. According to a list of features, users can click on Buttons to assign custom actions to any programmable button, and to see a layout of the laptop with a brief overview of the assignment. By clicking on the Colors button, users can fully customize the keyboard illumination from the individual and group color settings to the intensity of the illumination. Theres also a Statistics button that highlights the most frequently used keys. This solution also runs monitoring tests during any game or application, and enables users to calculate their Actions Per Minute (APM) to improve gaming efficiency and customize key locations. Finally theres the Macro Editor that can disable the keyboard when needed, among other tasks. Our upcoming lineup of gaming laptops gives gamers unprecedented ability to customize their gaming experience and a headache-free way to share their gaming experiences, said Andy Tung, CEO for MSI Pan America. Users can now easily change individual key colors, learn about their typing patterns, create personal profiles based on gaming preferences and showcase their proudest gaming feats with the world. As previously stated, additional information about the companys next-generation gaming laptops will be provided soon.
