Steer N Stein Palmdale 1 hr · Feel free to share this! Horsepower, a first annual charity poker ride and run to benefit Saddle Up Therapeutic Riding Center will be held Sunday, November 9. Sign up and registration will begin at 8 am and the ride will begin at 9 am. Motorcycles will have an approximately 50-70 mile ride beginning and ending in Leona Valley and the horse riders will have a guided ride for about 2-3 hours through the beautiful hills and valleys of Ritter Ranch. Major sponsors include Antelope Valley Harley Davidson and Camacho Auto. William Edwards Photography and Affordable Tire are among the donors of prizes to be raffled after the ride and run, too! All proceeds will go directly to Saddle Up. Entry fee is $20 per horse or motorcycle. $10 for additional rider on motorcycle. Lunch will follow the ride and run, and music, face painting and mule wagon rides are planned, as well. Saddle Up was founded in 1999 to promote the rehabilitation of individuals with physical, psychological and learning disabilities through equine-facilitated activities; to help establish therapeutic riding centers; support related medical research; and train and certify therapeutic riding instructors. The fundraiser is being organized by past and present Leona Valley Gymkhana Queens to sponsor Nugget, a horse that is new to Saddle Up who was donated by Tom and Judy Brundage, who founded the pageant in 2004. Still seeking the band, additional face painter, sponsors, raffle prizes and, of course, participants!
