Stepping off the Path… Before asphalt, glass and electric - TopicsExpress

Stepping off the Path… Before asphalt, glass and electric light, there was the Forest. Not merely the scrawny greenery we’ve come to associate with the fringes of our modern world, but the Dark Woods of primal Nature. In their shadows, faeries, wolves and nightmares waited for unwary souls… not just in the physical realm, but in the dense brambles of imagination too. The Dark Woods is an exhibition of sinister fantasy art. Drawn from the haunted allure of dense wilderness and primal dreams, this extended show at Krab Jab Studio invites you to explore the wilder side of faerie tales, with paintings and sculptures that step off the beaten path, venturing into places where tender hearts don’t go. It’s no place for cuteness or comfort. The beauty here is raw. Step off the beaten path, and run into the wilderness… Featured Artists: Allen Williams, Amy Brown, Drew Tucker, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, Heather Hudson, Olivier Villoingt, Yoann Lossel, Stefanie Vega, Sandra Buskirk, Masha Sardari, Thomas Dodd, Jeremy Hush, David Thiérrée, Yvette Endrijautzki, Forest Rogers, Alice Dufeu, Travis Lewis, Tory Taber, Yuko Ishii, Siolo Thompson, Carly Mazur, Jason Engle, Julia Jeffrey, and Melissa A Benson.
