Stepping onto the deck of the dive boat shortly after sunrise with - TopicsExpress

Stepping onto the deck of the dive boat shortly after sunrise with slight apprehension mixed with excited anticipation swirling around in my heart, every tank rack filled, eleven other divers preparing their gear, to the east a faint soft orange strip the only glimpse of the sunrise barely peeking through the layer of ominous dark gray-blue-black clouds rolling up from the southwest being pushed along by a moderate steady tropical wind, as the boat pulled away from the dock idling slowly towards the inlet, a few of the other divers chatting amongst themselves, a pelican gliding past at low level as the boat made the turn southward out of the inlet, the surface of the Gulf small smoothly spaced rolling swells with choppy ripples across the surface, I knew I was in the company of well seasoned proficient divers when looking across the deck everyone was smiling laughing & sharing about worldwide diving adventures, no one even uncomfortable with the less than perfect conditions, only a sense of excitement for the day of diving ahead. A fantastic day under the surface of the Gulf had begun, the crowded deck seemed comfortable as one by one we each stepped off the dive platform heading our separate ways. The first of two dives totaling three hours of magnificent bottom time, including countless interactions with very bold wrasse & sheepshead, many varieties & sizes of starfish slowly cruising along the bottom with a graceful beauty all their own. On my first dive well over an hour spent becoming intimately acquainted with a fairly large remora the incredible beauty of the feeling as the rather oddly designed shark cleaner fish would suction itself to various parts of my body, several times even kissing my exposed cheek just below my mask actually allowing me to run my hand across its slender body. The entire experience was absolutely incredible, touching every level of my heart & soul with such passion, enthusiasm, awe, Love & limitless gratitude for the fascinating world below the surface of the water! Oh yes & there were several very nice megs which came onto the boat in collection bags, today one of those megs came up in my bag along with many other various nice additions for my collection. After a great day of diving, came a fun late lunch of sushi/japanese grazing with a dear friend sharing laughter & beautiful friendship. Helen our time together always leaves a huge smile in my heart! The tri-fecta, the work on my camper complete, no parts required only a few minor repairs. This day has been outstanding even with the dreary rainy weather, brillant rays of sunlight touched the depths of my heart through countless precious gifts in so many forms throughout my day...Life is a beautiful & amazing journey...
