Stereoisomerism One of the most interesting kinds of isomerism found among coordination compounds is called stereoisomerism, which is defned as differences among isomers that arise as a result of the various possible orientations of their atoms in space. In other words, when stereoisomerism exists, we have compounds in which the same atoms are attached to each other, but they differ in the way those atoms are arranged in space relative to one another.
