Steve Cushman writes: My son had his first play date a month ago at the age of 10. I know, it’s a little late, but he has autism, so the fact he wants to spend time with any of his peers is good news to his mother and me, something we’ve been waiting quite a while for. Most children start having play dates by the time they reach kindergarten, but in kindergarten Trevor didn’t care at all about other kids in his class. He couldn’t name one of the three boys who shared his table at school.
