Steve McDonald will suffer from depression in secret until a tragedy will compel him to face up to his problems, soap boss Stuart Blackburn has revealed. Todd Grimshaw will also blame brother Jason after becoming scarred for life & Kylie Platt’s drug addiction plot will take an “incredibly moving” turn in other storylines set to rock the cobbles in the next few months. Speaking at a press preview earlier today, executive producer Stuart also promised Peter Barlow’s murder trial would be resolved so that the “soap gods will have their justice eventually”. This marks the start of a cracking 3 or 4 months worth of stories,” he said. “It is all about the nations favourite families, in different ways, taking centre stage. He continued: A story close to my heart is Steve battling secret depression. Hes scared & confused & he thinks that stuff like this doesnt happen to people like him. Hes absolutely terrified of admitting it. It will come to a head in January when a tragedy will strike that will force him to face those demons. This is simply a love story between Steve & Michelle.
