Steve here: We just got a telephone call (Undisclosed caller) on caller ID.....-It was a man that spoke with a very pronounced asian accent, english was barely understandable... long/short....he told me he was from Windows and that my computer was sending him error messages....I let him rattle on a little longer, then he asked if I was sitting at the computer the error messages were coming from? Well.......#1.....Windows is An operating system, NOT a Company........ #2, I knew the next step of his phone call would be to have me sit at my computer and allow him Remote Access so he could, in his purely altruistic good hearted way........help me to fix the problem.... #3 consisted of me telling him he was full of sh*t, THAT Windows was an operating system not a company, that he was a scam artist , and to NEVER F*CKING CALL HERE AGAIN.....then hung up Im not real computer savvy.but I know a scam when I hear one......point of this post is....How many less savvy people than me, will give remote access to the nice young man from windows that called to help (everyone knows that all tech support people speak with an accent) How many elders etc, are getting banking and credit card info swiped by the nice young man from windows during a remote access session?
