Stewart Hosie is a top bloke. Always effective and talks much sense. I met him for the first time well over 20 years ago. I was a researcher for STV attending SNP conference for the first time in that capacity. From a Labour background, I did not know quite what to expect. And was so pleasantly surprised when I came across the stall of the SNP Trade Union Group, promoting Trade Union rights , close ties with the Labour movement and generally progressive politics. And Stewart, and his now wife Shona Robison, were the two folks staffing that stall. I was impressed then, and remain impressed. If I had a vote in the SNP Deputy Leadership contest, Stewart for sure would have mine. Good luck to him in a strong field. All three candidates I know.
