Sthreedom: The Good Wife A dance-theatre piece based on the cross-cultural theme of feminine purity Acclaimed Indian classical dance-theatre performer Chitra Sundaram, presents a sharing from her research-based project entitled Sthreedom followed by post performance Q&A. It features Indian classical dance, contemporary movement, storytelling, Carnatic and Western Classical music and stunning visuals. Sthreedom draws on stories of two iconic women - Arundhati from India and Penelope from Greece. One is a virgin anticipating marriage and the other chaste wife whose husband has disappeared. It speaks of dangerously imposed seduction, purity, chastity, fidelity, and waiting, as lover, wife, mother.
