Stick out your tongue and say AHHHHH! Well - we have had a couple of interesting days, because as far as puppies are concerned every day is a holiday, so when a real one comes around it is no biggie to them..... Pebbles (she is the healthy puppy of the family we rescued from the backyard) was in the emergency room twice the last couple days. Yesterday, on New Years day, Trish received a call from her foster to adopt home at 8:45 am that Pebbles had thrown up and had blood in her stool. So everyone was concerned that she might have Parvo! Luckily volunteer Michelle was able to rush to Fountain Hills to get Pebbles. The family was very worried about her. Then Michelle rushed her to meet Trish at the emergency vet to get her checked out. Her temp was normal, and her heart rate was normal. She was active. They did the parvo test and it came back NEGATIVE! (phew) So she got a shot to help with the throwing up, and is now on a special diet. We had blood taken on her first visit to the vet this week on New Years Eve (for loose stools) so hopefully the blood work will come back soon to give more insight what going on. For now she is back at the rescue where we can keep an eye on her. Thank you Michelle for running to get her, and Tara, Oscar and Johnny for the help at the rescue yesterday, and Danelle and John for taking the afternoon shift there. A lot of people worked pretty hard on their HOLIDAY. FYI Pebbles weighed in at 13lbs yesterday....and when she is awake she is a talker, can we added ear plugs to our Amazon Wishlist? LOL. (FYI - we would like to wish for fewer emergency vet visits in 2015!)
