Prince Henrik visited Hammel Neurocenter on July 4, 2014 to tour gardens created with this donation. We shared that a demonstration was being held by a concerned group of citizens on that day. Stig Gerdes is a doctor in Denmark running the site I Klemme I Det Kommunale System. He has spoken out against what is happening to Karina Hansen and against Per Fink. It is with sadness I learned that your Royal Highness visited Hammel Neurocenter and gave it publicity while a sick young woman was admitted by force and is being kept isolated and treated by force in the same place. The woman, Karina Hansen, is only 24 years old and has a disease called ME, myalgic encephalomyelitis, which causes fatigue and tiredness. The diagnosis is well defined and has been known for more than a 100 years. ME is a physical disease which is included in the international coding system of WHO which Denmark officially follows. However, the Board of Health together with The Research Clinic for Functional Disorders have placed this physical illness under psychiatry, and it is also psychiatrists from The Research Clinic, who are responsible for her and her treatment. We are a lot of people who are collecting money for the coming High Court trial for this young woman, and you are hereby invited to give a contribution to the trial too, so that Karina Hansen can be released and get the right treatment. Karina Hansen is trapped in psychiatry, and since she is not mentally ill it is a type of abuse that should not take place in a country like Denmark.
