Still awake and still in pain. Convinced my favourite GP has got this diagnosis wrong. I have suffered from dry mouth for several years now. Possible causes medication, I have been on high doses of antihistamines for over ten years now to suppress my hypersensitive immune system. I also have or had a thyroid issue, total thyroidectomy last year to eliminate hyperthyroidism. Plus I have Graves disease which causes dry eyes. I also suffer from Fibromyalgia and one of the symptoms is reduction in mucosal and salivary fluids. All of these can cause blockage of salivary glands. It feels like my submandibular salivary gland that is swollen about the size of a small egg or walnut. This happens on a regular basis and each time I see my GP, he says it is a virus. Getting really down about this but dont know how to get round to letting my GP know my concerns. He did say if it doesnt improve to go back. So fed up with the pain and feeling ill.
