Still basking in the afterglow of Tuesdays Hispanic Account Planning Excelencia (HAPE) award announcements. Its been 18 long years since I began my second career when my Belen brother, Jose Lopez-Varela, told me he was always looking for smart people to work at Ritchie Lucas ad agency, CreatAbility. Later Rita Harris gave Jose, Alejandro Barreras and I a chance to break new ground at Hill Holliday. At Bromley J Moncada Jr set a great example of how to lead planners. Hes still the boss to me. Melissa Lammers, we did great work for Burger King. Karen Udler was the best right hand I could ever ask for at Alma. Ive had the pleasure of working with great creatives like Alejandro Barreras, Jorge Murillo, Eduardo Bono, Hugo Castillo, Monica Marulanda, Federico Casillas, Nour Da Silva, Santiago Mussfeldt, Juan Santiago Lagos, Gabriel Reyes, Gabriel Ferrer and Larry Gordon just to name a few. Working for my McDonalds clients Cristina Vilella, Marta Carter Fearon, Liz, Adam, PJ, Mark, Nancy, Di, and Marlena was always a very rewarding challenge. And of course I cant forget my dupla, my love, my wife Alexandra Orellana. I promised you we could move mountains together and we did. Now we have another promise to keep.
