Still in Bedford. Found an awesome campsite, deep in the woods. I built a firepit and everything. Heh... left a can next to the fire to heat up, and forgot about it. Suddenly I hear a loud POP! It blew my beef stew all over the woods. Couldnt find any trace of it the next day, so Im guessing doggie took clean-up duty. He was just trying to help out, of course. We saw a doe & her fawn walking along the train tracks. I had just dropped the leash and Bronx bolted after them. Wouldnt come when I called him. Was half wondering if he was gonna come back with the fawn... if he had, I couldnt just let the poor things life go to waste, especially considering I already had a campfire set up. Id have skinned, cleaned, and ate it, probably looked up how to make jerky. Thankfully he didnt kill the cute little baby deer, though. Probably gonna head south tomorrow. Gotta go see if I can find my sleeping bag now... lost the damn thing yesterday. I think it came unattached when I sat down somewhere. I gotta retrace my steps. Hopefully its still there. Its kind of an important thing to have. A friend gave me a couple blankets, which was awesome. Thanks, Jeff! I like what Ive seen of Bedford do far. I might have to come back and visit someday. Anyways, Im out. Gotta go look for that sleeping bag and get some clothes washed. Was hoping to get a shower today, but dont have enough for a motel room. Hell, I should just get some soap and bathe in the river... wouldnt be the first time.
