Still kind of bummed and angry about my laptop being stolen. A nice girl just called and said she found my messenger bag on the street near Lyles, so thats good news at least, since its an $80 Samsonite and it has my 4 subject notebook in it. Its interesting to realize how much attachment one has to possessions like computers, especially their contents. It sounds foolish but it almost feels like I lost a friend or a part of me in a weird way, which speaks volumes about how much time I spend using technology. Its definitely an eye opener and has made me think about priorities and moderation a little more. In any case this theft has been a lesson in letting go. I have no problem with letting go of material possessions, as I feel that attachment to material possessions is unhealthy, but I cant help but feel somewhat violated knowing that someone has access to my personal writings, academic papers, recorded music, emails, and photos without my consent. Its an unsettling feeling and one that is going to take me a couple of days to fully experience and overcome. I must now virtually start two of my classes over in order to keep up with the current work load so that I can graduate in May. I have yet to hear back from any of my instructors about how I should proceed, but Im hoping for some flexibility and understanding on their part. Had to pay to get my window repaired out of pocket yesterday because I have the most basic car insurance available. That hurts as well. Im not looking for pity I just need to vent this one time;) Its strictly cathartic and will hopefully prevent me from having to vent to any of my friends in person;) Also, in one last desperate attempt to reclaim it, I am offering $300 to anyone who can provide info leading to the whereabouts of my computer. I will pay upon its return - no questions asked. Please feel free to share my initial post from yesterday (2010 MacBook Pro 13, 2.4 Ghz, 500 GB, clear Speck case, black nylon zip case). Thanks.
