Still no results. Now they are telling us that they dont expect results until the beginning of next week. It is frustrating being told one thing and then something different, but the same thing happened last year, waiting for the same test results. On a positive note, no news is better than bad news, and at least now we can relax and enjoy the weekend together. Still praying for the best possible results, and hoping to hear something on Monday! Julian is still enjoying his time at home. Temperatures have been good, and he seems to be feeling well. I have had a few people question whether Julian will still need a transplant if his MRD results show the 0.0% that we are so hoping for, the answer is yes. Even with those results, we can be almost certain that leukemic cells remain, thus his relapse. Before the transplant, he will have extremely high doses of chemo (even much higher than the high dose chemo he has already had), followed by total body radiation. The goal of that is to kill off all remaining leukemic cells and his bone marrow. The donor cells will replace his own, and should there be any lingering disease, they would kill that off too. Still, they want him in remission (and ideally without any sign of disease) going into that process. Additional chemo going into that process would be necessary if he has not achieved the needed level of remission, but that would also weaken his body, going into an already extremely challenging medical procedure. That is the reason we want him to show no evidence of disease and no MRD. We appreciate all of your prayers. We will continue to be patient, and we will let you know as soon as we have results! Everything happens in His time, not ours. Have a great weekend everyone! The Andrews
