Still on pastorpreneurs... So, David Oyedepo allegedly refuses to pay taxes because he built his own road and supplies his own water? Maybe the dude is high on annointing oil (or water). Oga, you supply your own water right, do you fly it in from neighbouring countries? Or you have a borehole which you drilled on Nigerian land? Your worshippers use the Nigerian roads, pay tax for that. You breathe Nigerian air, pay tax for that. You have built in Nigeria, either you pay tax for that, or relocate to outerspace biko. Matter of fact, you should pay tax as part of your contribution to the development of Nigeria. You should do so happily, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver... wait o, why does that sound familiar? Besides the Jesus Christ you claim to emulate paid his tax. It is reported (by the bible no less) that he lived in the wilderness and in fact had no place to lay his head. Yet, he paid tax! He did not only pay tax, when one of his wayward children complained that after all, they built their own roads and supplied their own water, he admonished them and said, honour to whom honour is due... etc. So which are you being? Christlike or wayward? Pay your tax joor and let us hear word. FG, tax them (churches, mosques, secret societies, animists, humanists, atheists - when they finally work up enough courage to start meeting in churches- etc) 75% of all their income. They should consider it their own little contribution towards developing this great country! Tenkior o... PS: What am I even doing courting the trouble of Facebooks holy water parade this morning? They are usually more brutal than APC peeps in their righteous indignation! bellanaija/2014/10/13/should-nigerian-churches-pay-tax-worlds-richest-pastor-david-oyedepo-answers-reuters-for-what/
