Still rolling at 65!! Well, this past Monday early evening, my 8 yr old granddaughter and I were walking in an open field, I tripped, fell forward and rolled down into a steep ravine! For those of you who dont know, I am 9 days post finger surgery which includes fusing and a pin, 6 days post lower left back procedure where C-2,3,4 nerve endings were cauterized, 7 days pre-op for same procedure on right lower back and 3 weeks pre-op for both knees to be replaced. This is definitely not the time in my life to go rolling down a steep ravine! Eye glasses went flying one way and shoes went flying another! If youre laughing, its ok because I laugh about it now (but not then). Lauren, my granddaughter and now biggest HERO, called her Daddy on my cell phone and told him I fell and couldnt get up and to come help. He was there in about 10 (should have taken 15 or 20) minutes, helped me stand and then back up the ravine! To say God was watching over me, is an understatement! Only one small scratch on my arm with a lot of sore muscles and a few bruises! Thank you God, for protecting this klutz from serious injury! Doug (my son) went back the next day and looked again for my glasses (and found them....I think under his foot). I took my horribly bent up glasses back where I bought them and they fixed them like new!! Lenses were not damaged! Lauren knows about 911, but I told her I was ok, just couldnt get up! While I was sitting there in all the brush, dirt and inches of ground cover, she was talking to me like a little momma about a band-aid would fix my scratch and not to move my feet and be still because snakes were down there!! She said her Daddy would fix everything when he got there.....and he did! Again, thank you God for protecting my wild trip and roll! Oh yea, my finger and back are fine, no damage there either!! GOD IS SO GOOD!!!
