Still thinking about Joe Cocker, his life and times. Joe died yesterday at the age of 70 of lung cancer. It occurred to me after the initial shock of his passing, that Joe Cocker was a recovered substance abuse user who re-invented himself after crashing and burning professionally in middle-age. Not only did his career recover, to some extent, Joe earned the respect of his peers in the music business and was a beacon of hope to others who weathered the drug scene of the 1960s and 1970s and were able to get clean and sober and salvage their careers. Amazing fellow. Hope hes jammin with Janice and Jimi and all of those who didnt make it through the drug scene of that era and died young. Woodstock Nation Forever...
