Still undecided? Who can blame you. With that much bickering going - TopicsExpress

Still undecided? Who can blame you. With that much bickering going between both sides it can be hard to see what actually matters. I can appreciate why it’s difficult to understand why Scotland is so wealthy since we have so much revenue generated from all our resources yet families are struggling to live let alone enjoy the luxuries of life and that is simply because Westminster spend our money on what they want, not what’s good for us. Few would argue that Scotland can’t sustain itself as it’s a huge insult to the people of Scotland to say that we can’t manage our own country when the majority of countries around the world operate independently ( with a much larger population that ours!). The real debate of course centres around if we are better off so let me stick to the facts and show where our wealth comes from and why the UK are so desperate to keep up. Here is our annual economy: Construction = £18 billion Tourism = £10 Billion Whisky Export = £4.3 Billion Food & Drink = £13 Billion Manufacturing Exports = £15 Billion Life Sciences = £1.9 Billion Creative Industries = £5 Billion Renewable Energy = £5 Billion The Global Ratings agency Standards and Poor’s has stated that oil aside , “Scotland would qualify for our highest economic assessment”. Ratings agency Moody’s agrees “All possible outcomes point to Scotland being among the wealthiest sovereign’s in the world”. As if the above resources weren’t enough, throw the oil in there worth £1500 billion and you can see why people are insulted when accused we are worthless and reliant on Westminster. For those that do feel it’s much safer to allow someone else to determine our future I would encourage you all to send me your monthly pay packet (cheque or BACS perfectly fine) and I will happily tell you how to spend it and manage it for you. Concerned you might not get all that back or spend it on what you feel you should, then rightly so! Worried about jobs? No need. With complete control over our country we can set corporation tax levels that will incentivise companies to come to Scotland creating more jobs than currently possible with the few powers we have. Worried about the NHS? You should be. Dr Phillipa Whitford – one of Scotland’s leading breast cancer surgeons states “in 5 years, England will not have an NHS and in 10 years if we vote no, neither will we”. Worried about interest rates rising? Irrelevant. They will rise regardless of independence or not. The fact is troops, the NO camp has based its campaign on fear by trying to convince the people of Scotland we need Westminster. The above industries show you how we do not and also explains their desperation to keep us. If you do decide no then please refrain from ever complaining about all the things you don’t like in the economy because you have given up the power for Scotland to decide. Are we destined for success with a yes vote? Certainly not, there is risk in any decision that gets made but for the first time ever in our countries history we will have the opportunity to prosper and not be bogged down with UK’s debts and our share of the expenditure of £163 million annual bill to support trident. I have shown how we have so much wealth and why all the major agencies have put us 14 wealthiest in the world against the rest of the UK at 18th if we are independent. The no supports will soon hit back to this I am sure with all the fear statements in the world and now that the yes is looking more likely than it ever has Westminster are kindly offering us a little more power if we vote no! We won’t be ridiculed in this way. Seize the one opportunity we have to make it count. Put destiny in our own hands and let’s rise from these ashes and release our potential.
