Still waiting for my tomorrow A collaborative write by Mpho Leteng (Botswana) and Donald Kuutsi (Zimbabwe) When the sunrise, My undying spirit of determination rise, Curiosity knock on the doors of my chest, Demanding for tomorrows answers, A puzzle that needs to be solved, Shadows of the earth lunge towards my window and mirrors, Whilst my thoughts try to embrace the reflection that will grant me answers for tomorrows puzzle, Heart beat skips, Staring at the hour glass, As moments pass, Wind racing against time My mind and soul in solitude, Whilst l m drunk with emotions, Ink and thoughts collide on papers, Demanding for tomorrows answers, Yet my heart doesn’t know what holds the future, All l know is the one who holds the future, Ink and thoughts continue to collide on paper, But this day dies out too quick! As I keep to the shuffling shadows of a Mosikiri tree, blood flowing too thin! I look unswervingly into my past, I see the effort I have or have not put in, Kuutsi’s words backing my disconcerted soul “a relationship with God is always a win!” Well, thank you for the wise words but I’m still waiting for my tomorrow! I’m still waiting for a sign to sign my future in verse, I’m still waiting for my repute in thy art I in the long bred, My voice in the fervid poems, the language I once knew, the language I used to speak I look again into my past, I see nothing but a life keeping me away from the answers I still seek I look through the windows of mine soul I see nothing but the crick of a lost time! I see a world too sick! How should I carry this world on mine shoulders!? A sick world on mine shoulders? Only my tomorrow will rally round to impel me into taking my pick But I’m still waiting for that tomorrow!
