Stoke 3 - Arsenal 2: Potters survive late Gunners blitz to earn three valuable points ARSENALs mini unbeaten run came to screeching halt at the Britannia Stadium earlier today. The Gunners travelled to the Potteries looking to earn their first victory at the Britannia in over four years. But their hopes of ending their hoodoo against Mark Hughess side took a huge blow 20 seconds into the game. The home-side took the lead when former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch got on the end of a cross from Steven Nzonzi and fired a low shot past Emiliano Martinez. Things got even worse for the visitors in the 35th minute when poor defending from the allowed new signing Bojan Krkic to ghost in behind the defence and fire a volley past the helpless Martinez. Stoke supporters wouldve been in a state of ecstasy following Bojans strike, but moments before the half-time interval they were taken to a level beyond that.Jonathan Walters fired home the third after on pouncing on a cross from Bojan, and heaped even more pressure on Arsene Wenger and his side. The Gunners reduced the deficit on the hour-mark via a Santi Cazorla penalty, and moments later grabbed a second through Aaron Ramsey to give the travelling supporters hope of a dramatic comeback. But those hopes were dented in the 80th minute when Calum Chambers was sent off for a second bookable offense. However, Chambers dismissal didnt halt the Gunners, and the visitors continued to pile the pressure on the Potters. But depsite their best efforts Arsene Wengers were unable to create the clear cut chance they needed to try salvage a point, which meant their terrible run at the Britannia continued.
