Stoke Car Park. I have had confirmation that under the localism act 2011 the car park has now been listed as an Asset of community value. The reasons cited are the asset is fundamental to the users of the adjacent shops, open spaces and recycling facilities. The loss of the facility would have a primary impact on the social and environmental wellbeing and secondary impact on the economy. This is valid for 5years and Land Registry will be notified. The owners can appeal the decision. Now we are looking at two options Community buy out or renewal of the lease which HBC have requested. Thanks to all the residents of North hayling who have contributed to the efforts to retain this as a car park.
