Stoke the fire and pull out the extra blankets. Take extra care with yourselves and your pets over the next few days. Wear multiple layers, protect exposed skin, and try to minimize your time outside. Check fuel and propane levels. keep you vehicles full of gas, check your battery, fluids, and tires. Allow extra time for your car to warm up. Pack an emergency bag in your car in case of breakdowns (granola bars, blankets, flashlight, gloves, jumper cables...). Double check emergency supplies at home in the event of a power failure. Check all windows and doors are closed tightly to prevent added heat loss. Check on neighbors home alone.
