Stolen Boat update from Jodi and me * No word from the police - TopicsExpress

Stolen Boat update from Jodi and me * No word from the police on having found the boat. Thats not unexpected unfortunately. The Gaston County Police officer was pretty clear that its very hit or miss game getting these things back. * We got word from our adjuster this week that insurance is going to pay for everything we lost. He even included equipment that was on the boat but that we hadnt listed on the claim because it wasnt critical (tow ropes, anchors and the like). In the end they gave us a very fair price which is enough to pay off the loan and, in fact, is several thousand dollars more than we had asked for when listing the boat to sell. This is a relief to us but were not particularly joyful about it. In the end, someone stole our stuff. That has severe consequences legally, psychologically and spiritually. We dont wish those consequences on anyone. * We continue to encourage people not to be too critical of the thieves. Were just not that mad. They did it for their own reasons and we are not horribly impacted other than the loss of stuff. Stuff that isnt, really, all that important in the end game. Also, there was paperwork... lots of paperwork. It makes us sad that people would be in a situation that would cause them to steal things, whatever that situation might be. Whether its just simple greed or a real, physical, need is not relevant to us. It pains us that people need to steal things. * Were mostly frustrated by the fact that they cut the ratchet strap that attached the boat to a telephone pole. Ratchet straps are easy to operate. That was a $30 strap. Come on dude... cutting it was just mean. If you dont know how to use one this lady can help: https://youtube/watch?v=c14lcpne_xI * Many folks shared our stolen boat ad and for that we remain very grateful. We even had a few people from the internet reach out with possible leads just because it was the right thing to do. That was very cool and very encouraging. * We were humbled by some of the very nice comments that you made either on the post itself or when you reposted the ad. We know that many of you have prayed specifically about this and many of you have encouraged us with your kind words. Thats kinda awesome. Thanks for being kinda awesome.
