Join New York State Senator Tony Avella, plaintiffs, residents, small business owners, park users, civic groups, legal advocates, and the community for a rally in support of a court challenge to the construction of the Willets West mega-mall on 47.5 acres of Queens parkland. No more Bloomberg-era land grabs! The construction of the Willets West mega-mall will permanently prevent any future recreational use of 47.5 acres of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. Gridlock traffic will adversely affect existing small businesses and reduce the quality of life for residents of the surrounding neighborhoods. Promised affordable housing units wont be built until at least 2025, if at all.
