Stop the victim blaming and shaming. Right now. Even strong, intelligent, feminist women can be sucked into the vicious cycle of an abusive relationship. I was. I didnt notice as he methodically reinforced my own insecurities, isolated me from my friends, and manipulated me into submission. It didnt take long, either. It got physical about two months in, but by that point I was in so deep I bought that it was my fault. It wasnt until I got pregnant that I was able to find enough objectivity to leave, but even then I still sort of believed it was my fault - I just wasnt going to bring a baby into that, regardless of the cause. We were only together five months, not married, and I had family nearby. I was lucky. Lots of women arent. They dont need judgement, they need support. Dont be a dick.
