Stopped in Las Vegas for a little family history by the Louis C. Pico Sr. Reservoir, part of the Las Vegas Water District system. Louis Pico was elected to the Las Vegas Water District Board for several terms and this reservoir was named in his honor. It would seem water is in my blood. His terms of office ended when the Water District Board responsibilities were merged with the Clark County Board of County Commissioners who maintain control of this rather large public utility to this day as part of their overall responsibilities. There is something about an elected independent board being merged with the elected representatives that rings a bell, but I just cant seem to put my finger on it.......
