Storekeeper detained for charging money for free ration Srinagar: Police Wednesday detained a CA&PD storekeeper after the residents of Pamposh Colony Palapora in Eidgah area of Srinagar city lodged a complaint that the said storekeeper forced them to pay money for the free ration meant for the flood victims. Locals told that store-keeper Abdul Rashid forced some 60 households to pay Rs 250 each for the 28 kg ration that he had procured from the CA&PD department to supply free of cost to the flood hit people. “The store-keeper was supposed to supply 30 kg rice per household free of cost but he provided only 28 kg ration and charged Rs 250 from each household owner,” a local Bilal Ahmed told CNS adding that when the residents approached Assistant Director Supplies, he asked us to provide details about the store-keeper.
