Storm vs. Black Cat....a job of stealth-like proportions! The Skinny... Storm was orphaned at a young age, and grew up in the streets of Cairo under the eventual tutelage of one, Amahl Farouk -- the future Shadow King. A King of Thieves of sorts, he trained Storm in the finer aspects of pocketpicking, lockpicking and escape artistry. Indeed, it is said that as a child she went on to become the finest pickpocket in Cairo. Storms skill with locks has colored her varied career as an adventurer. When the X-men were captured by the Hellfire Club in their first meeting, her renown as an escape artist was so known that the Hellfire troopers removed all -- well almost all -- of the lock-picks from her costume. She later successfully picked the lock to her cage in the Hellfire Clubs compound, before being successfully subdued by the then-evil Emma Frost, who was taken down by Phoenix. Another testament to Storms skill as a thief was that vampire-lord, Dracula -- whod bitten her prior to summoning her -- sought to use her skills to steal the Darkhold. Combined with her considerable elemental powers, Storm infiltrated quite easily -- using winds to glide through the stately manor, while also not tripping motion sensors. Storm has -- in the past -- utilized lightning to stealthily short out security systems, and was even able to remove the Avengers high-tech manicles from a captured Magneto during a long ago Avengers-X-men clash, during her powerless days. Black Cat is perhaps the most skilled thief in MU -- well, theres also Storms teammate, Gambit, lol. An on again, off-again bad-girl/anti-hero, Cat has successfully outmaneuvered Marvel street level/night timer Spider-Man, and Daredevil on numerous occasions - though theyve invariably caught her (and she and Peter have been romantically involved at times). Black Cat -- Felicia Hardy -- is of a rather ambiguous nature, not unlike Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, in DC [sorry - only a reference]. She has served honorably in Heroes for Hire -- mostly, and has garnered some respect from the community of costumed heroes, who see her potential and many have friended her -- Monica Rambeau, Angelica Jones, and Patsy Walker are her besties. Shes also close with Misty Knight. Cat has unrivaled stealth skills. She is skilled in Kung Fu and Tae Kwon Do, and has effectively fought her past lover, Spider Man, to a standstill. Though - he was obviously holding back, as was she, and Cats powers, by nature, often give her an advantage. Cat is gifted with the ability to affect probability, not unlike Longshot. This results in good luck for her, and bad luck for anyone opposing her. Coupled with her escapist skills and thievery techniques, she is one of the most highly sought after thieves in MU! So - who do you trust to get the job done? Who would you ask to steal an Oscar from a vault?
