Storms expected to fire up and become Severe through New South - TopicsExpress

Storms expected to fire up and become Severe through New South Wales and Queensland this afternoon #Sydney #Brisbane #QLD #NSW #QLDStorms #NSWStorms #Weather **Feel free to share around to family and friends** The Low Pressure System associated with the Trough which is triggering these Storms, is expected to move towards Sydney and the Central New South Wales Coast today, most likely moving offshore tonight. The Trough has swung around now and is heading through Central Queensland, North-East New South Wales and the East Coast of NSW. The same principle should apply today, that has in previous days... where Storms fire up East of the Trough as the Warmer and more Humid Air gets drawn in off the Coral Sea, while the Drier Air comes in behind the Trough. Some of these Storms today are likely to become Severe, and should be warned for Damaging Winds and Large Hail. Heavy Rain is a possibility in Isolated instances... but Wind and Hail are the main factors, along with Frequent Lightning due to the Above Average Temperatures ahead of the Trough thanks to those Warmer Winds. In Queensland, Storms should fire up in the following Districts: • Darling Downs** • Parts of the Wide Bay and Burnett • Central Highlands** • Lower Burdekin • Parts of the Central Coast** (mainly around the Hills to the West of Mackay) In New South Wales, Storms should fire up in the following Districts: • North-East • Northern Tablelands • North-West Slopes and Plains** • Hunter** • Mid North Coast** • Central Tablelands** • Sydney • Illawarra ** denotes that Severe Warnings, according to the models, could be issued for that District. However, Severe Storms could occur in any of the Districts above. Note: The lists above, do not include the Storms which are occurring now... despite them being in some of those Districts. This is more from Midday onwards. The Higher CAPE values are appearing through Northern New South Wales, so it is more likely that Large Hail could be associated with these Storms. While Strong to Damaging Winds should occur in both States. Ill be more active today, so if anyone has any photos... please send them in as I would love to see them. With the amount of Storm Activity moving through, there should be some amazing Lightning opportunities, and photos. Images via BSCH for 4pm EST/5pm EDT 1. Storm Potential for Queensland 2.
